Artificial-Intelligence enhanced humans

In an interview for OpenMind, Professor Kevin Warwick, a cybernetics expert at University of Reading, explains that the future of the human species lies in the connection of our brains to machines. In this way our physical and intellectual capacity can be increased through artificial intelligence.

The implantation of electrodes in the brain for the treatment of diseases such as Parkinson's is proof that deep brain stimulation is no longer something that is exclusively part of science fiction films, but has become a very tangible reality today. For this reason, Warwick speaks of the fact that it is only a matter of time before humans connect with each other, in order to improve our capacities, by means of artificial intelligence. Warwick warns of the danger of pursuing the implementation of artificial intelligence in machines and not in humans.
