Blockchain: New technological opportunities to rebuild trust

Our partner, NWC10Lab, an innovation laboratory specialized in Blockchain, will make it possible for thousands of people to learn online, free of charge, about the shortcomings of today's technology during the current epidemic, and opportunities for technological development. This initiative will start on Thursday, April 16th at 7p.m.(Madrid), and will last until the end of the lockdown. Renowned experts will participate in this initiative to describe different problems, such as breakage and lack of transparency in supplies, spread of fake news, rejection of cash, loss of credibility of governments, protection of the privacy of citizens, or online certification and registry.

Under the name NWC10Lab Talks and under the motto "Blockchain Lessons Learned", 500 speakers will share their experience with Blockchain technology and what they're currently working on. They will also analyse the developments in the field and their opinion on Blockchain's shortcomings in view of the current global crisis and how this affects digital trust.  You can register and check the speakers at www.nwc10lab.com/talks

Among the speakers, there are some Hispanic experts, such as Leif Ferreira, CEO of Bit2me Project, a pioneer that made it possible to change Bitcoin to Euros in thousands of ATMs (December 2014); Tomás García–Merás expert in cryptography and digital signature who participated in some of the most important digitalization projects regarding public administration in Spain and the creation of the Autofirma programme; Bogdan Stirbu Blockchain representative in Accenture España; María Mateo Iborra CEO at Ibisa, a Blockchain company that contributes to the society by means of technology. Ibisa mostly operates in Luxemburg and it is supported by the European Space Agency. Fernando Ramos, Director DPO IT Law and tech lawyer specialized in privacy; Jorge Gomes CEO in the SmartRights project, pioneer in the tokenization of registry and authors’ rights.

Our partner, NWC10Lab, is an innovation lab specialized in Blockchain for the validation, development and acceleration of digital ideas. The objective of the lab is to disseminate all the findings through an ecosystem of more than 50.000 followers on social media and by organizing events with more than 250 attendees in places such as Google Campus or at the Telefonica Flagship Store in Madrid.

The achievements of the NWC10Lab innovation lab include its participation in renowned projects, such as Bit2me (leader in cryptocurrency exchange in the Hispanic world), Blocknap (open source framework which facilitates the implementation of Blockchain), IBISA (microinsurance for farmers, a system based on satellite, supported by the European Space Agency), Tikebit (cryptocurrency purchase in more than 11.000 shops), Adwatch (project that enables transparency and trust on the online advertising market, where the Volvo Cars brand was the first advertiser) or SmartRights Project (pioneer in the tokenization of digital creations and authors’ rights)

At the IoT Digital Innovation Hub, we support the dissemination of technologies like Blockchain and the work of companies who promote development and innovation, such as the NWC10Lab company.
