Intelligent water management, a source of information for Smart Cities
Roquetas de Mar has been a benchmark for Smart City development for quite some time now. The application of new technologies in this municipality gives a glimpse into the future of the cities that are committed to digital transformation.
In this regard, its councillor for urban planning has demonstrated that more efficient water management can be achieved with the application of Big Data and Cloud Computing technology.
It is not only a matter of intelligent water management, the data collected by the smart meters implemented in citizens' homes, can help the Town Council extract different statistics in real time, such as the population living in the city at any given time. Thus, any public resource can be managed more efficiently, ranging from police services to cleaning services and much more.
Another use of data at the time of the pandemic is the control of covid-19 trends, making it possible to have some control over the spread of the virus in the municipality.
All of this contributes to better economy, health and society, while making city management more ecological.
At IoT Digital Innovation Hub we continue to work on the development of intelligent solutions that allow for the extensive development of Smart Cities.
