La Fièvre, first short film and screenplay in Spain that uses Blockchain for copyright registration

La Fièvre, www.lafievre.es is a short film that has been screened at festivals in several countries, such as the United States, Uruguay and Iraq. It is the first film in Spain that has used Blockchain to register its copyrights. The process has been carried out by SmartRights, www.smartrights.io, a Spanish startup dedicated to the certification, protection and monetization of digital content by means of this technology. This pioneering project has been supported by the innovation laboratory NWC10Lab, www.nwc10lab.com.

Several renowned actors of the Spanish film industry star in this short film. The main character is played by Alberto Amarilla, a well-known Spanish actor who has a Goya nomination and has appeared in films such as Mar adentro and Fuga de cerebros. The director, José María Flores, says that the film is about "how we silently ignore the problems we have in our lives instead of facing them." Flores also expressed his interest in new technologies and explained that he asked SmartRights to help him apply Blockchain in the film industry.

La Fièvre is a short film that talks about the mental block that people suffer when faced with obstacles, which analogically resemble the problems experienced by entrepreneurs and people who adopt new disruptive technologies, the reason for which NWC10Lab and SmartRights have partnered to pioneer the ground-breaking tech-project for this film.

SmartRights is a company founded by Jorge Gomes and Sara Rodriguez, which uses Blockchain-based software to register the copyrights of the creators of all kinds of content; be it a piece of literature, a film or a design, the creator can decide how to disseminate it and monetize it.

SmartRights has been launched on October 24th, 2019, at the IE Business School during the NWC10Lab technological meetings. The 150 attendees showed great interest in SmartRights.

NWC10Lab is an innovation laboratory specialized in Blockchain technology, directed by José Luis Cáceres, NWC10 CEO, and Leif Ferreira, CEO and co-founder of Bit2me, www.bit2me.com; the main platform in Spain for buying and selling cryptocurrency.

Among the Blockchain projects that have been launched or accelerated by NWC10Lab are Bit2me, Blocknap (open source framework that facilitates the implementation of Blockchain), IBISA (microinsurance system for farmers that uses satellites supported by the European Space Agency), Tikebit (for the purchase of cryptocurrencies in more than 11,000 stores) and Adwatch (project that offers transparency and confidence to the online advertising market with Volvo Cars as the first advertiser).
